Our town's Big Issue seller is back. Never sure if that's a good or bad thing, but nice to see her all the same. I bought a copy and am reading it now - there's a shocking article inside about the middle classes succombing to homelessness. Obviously it's horrible whoever it happens to, but just proves that it could happen to anyone - those well heeled people who pretend to be on the phone when they walk past the Big Issue seller can't think this is a problem of alcholics and their like....
happy 20th birthday to the big issue!
The Big Issue exists to offer homeless and vulnerably housed people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income. We produce a weekly entertainment and current affairs magazine which vendors buy from us for £1 and sell to the public for £2, keeping £1 for themselves. Vendors must adhere to a code of conduct whilst selling the magazine
