Tuesday, 4th January - West Berkshire Alzheimer's Society

Spent some of the morning at the office on New Greenham Park doing a bit of admin work for the West Berkshire Alzheimer's Society.
The Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, and the West Berkshire branch is extremely active having pioneered Singing for the Brain which is a social therapeutic activity which is incredibly beneficial to people with dementia. I've seen this in action and it brought a tear to my eye. Many people who can't speak or don't react in real life are brought to life by the rhythms and memories that music unlocks.
